Trading

From Chosen Space V2 Wiki

Simply put, buy low, sell high.

Some planets produce goods that other planets need; you can see which planets need and produce what in your system by clicking the "Prices" button in the top bar. Be sure you know of a planet that needs the goods you are about to buy before you buy it; if you have to dump your cargo or spend loads of turns running around looking, the losses are significant.

When considering trade routes, the difference in buying/selling price isnt the only thing to watch out for; you also need to consider how many turns it will take. Always divide your potential profits (the difference between prices) by the number of turns it will take to achieve them - that is the figure you need to compare when considering multiple alternatives.

Starbases - The admin-owned starbases (trading posts) have now been retired and replaced by player-owned starbases. A number of starbases can be found in most systems. As the name implies, those outposts work the same as trading posts on planets, but are in space, and the demand and supply there is completely player-set. Go to the grid with a starbase (you can only see it if you are in the same sector) and click its name to use it.

One significant difference between starbases and planetary trading posts is that starbases offer players the options of storing cargo. They can also act as brokers, selling or acquiring items or goods on a player's behalf. Fees for these services are clearly posted, and may vary widely.

It is also worth noting that while many starbases are public, some are only open to members of the faction with whom its owner is affiliated.
