In 12151.08 CE, a huge Fullerite Ore asteroid slammed into Ootipah, pulverizing the small moon of Jexia I. Most of the small Ballybranian population was killed, including the founder, Flinx, and the colony's iridium refinery was destroyed. Through the quick thinking of a few Senators, most of the outposts and the remaining settlers were saved. They regrouped at Trellum, rechristened themselves The Ballybran Fleet, and went about rebuilding their lives. The sector is now devoid of permanent settlers, except for a small 5-man research outpost on the planet.
